State Prayer Points and Praise Reports

Religious Liberty Legislation

Continue praying consistently and fervently for the successful passage of legislation that effectively protects our Judeo-Christian heritage and religious liberty.

AL: Justice Moore Suspended – Appealing Ruling

“The COJ found him guilty of all six charges of violation of the canons of judicial ethics brought by the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC). The charges stem from a complaint by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The charges centered on a January order that Moore ordered state probate judges to defy the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal court orders declaring gay marriage legal nationwide and not issue same-sex marriage licenses…Moore’s attorney, Mat Staver who leads the legal group Liberty Counsel, said that they are appealing the COJ ruling to the Alabama Supreme Court.”

FL: Clerk Fired For Deeply Held Beliefs

“A Christian county clerk is filing a lawsuit against government officials in Florida for firing her after she declined to perform a homosexual ‘marriage,’ which would have violated her sincerely held religious beliefs.”

FL: School Goes To Court To Defend Right To Pray

“Last December the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) refused to allow a private Christian school to deliver a pregame prayer over a loudspeaker before a championship football game. FL: Brevard County In Federal Court Over Legislative Prayer Practices

Ongoing in NC: DOJ’s Lawsuit Against North Carolina Is Abuse Of Power

“North Carolina, has sustained unrelenting and coordinated attacks from big business, the entertainment industry, the ACLU, and now the federal government over its common sense bathroom policies. Gov. Pat McCrory and the North Carolina legislature have had enough of this bullying and filed separate lawsuits against the Department of Justice Monday in the reasonable expectation that a federal judge will order the ideologues at the Department of Justice to back off.”

VA: SCOTUS Asked To Decide Who Decides ‘Law Of The Land’

“First Liberty wants the Supreme Court to decide if a mid-level Department of Education agent’s directive requiring schools to allow transgender students to use opposite-sex bathroom carries the weight of law.”

Canada: Major Universities Push Hiring Policies On Small Faith-Based Schools

“The organization representing most Canadian institutions of higher education for a century is poised to enact regulations making it virtually impossible for Christian universities to belong, turning its collective back on the history of education in Canada, where most older universities were faith-based.UC’s board has recommended a draft bylaw and a matching policy to its membership that some are warning will force its Christian members to quit the organization or drop policies requiring staff and faculty to adhere to Christian moral teachings.”

Nigeria Downplaying Boko Haram Target Of Christians

Although the Nigerian government has recorded notable military victories over Boko Haram recently and the Islamic terrorist group has killed more Muslims than Christians to date, there’s a growing concern that Boko Haram’s strategy has shifted once again towards the destruction of Christians in Nigeria.
