IN: FFRF Gets Faith-Based Banner At School Taken Down

From FFRF site: “The Freedom From Religion Foundation has had a religious banner removed from an Indiana high school. Recently, a local community member reported to FFRF that the New Palestine High School football stadium was displaying a sizable religious banner directly across from the entrance to the public school. The banner was decorated with a large image of the football team’s logo above the text “DRAGONS FOOTBALL.” A substantial portion of the banner included a prominent advertisement for a local church, with the church’s logo and website and a New Testament reference: “I CAN DO ALL THINGS…”

MI: FFRF Gets Gideons Blocked From School District

From FFRF site: “The Freedom From Religion Foundation has blocked the Gideons from a Michigan school district. A concerned parent informed FFRF that on Oct. 20, members of Gideons International were passing out New Testaments to all students of reading age outside of Fennville Elementary School in Fennville, Mich., while they waited to be picked up after school. This distribution reportedly took place on school property just 20 feet from the school door.”

NC: Legislative Prayer Could Be Going To The Supreme Court – Again

“Rowan County in North Carolina asks the Supreme Court to uphold its policy pertaining to praying before public meetings and to clear up conflicting rulings on legislator-led prayer in lower courts. ADF attorneys are co-counsel in this case.”

WI: FFRF Demands End To Religious Program For Inmates 

From FFRF site: “The Freedom From Religion Foundation is warning the Wisconsin Department of Corrections against a ploy to convert inmates to Christian ministers. Trinity International University, a private evangelical Christian university based in Illinois, has recently started offering a bachelor’s degree at Waupun Correctional Institution in Biblical Studies. Although the school offers 35 bachelor’s programs at campuses around the country, this is the only one offered at this correctional institution.”
