Religious Freedom And Healthcare

…”This inseparability of motivation explains why 91 percent of faith-based physicians surveyed say they will leave medicine if forced to choose between their careers and their conscience. When a physician is forced to leave, every patient served by that physician loses her doctor. When a faith-based institution is forced to close, in some cases a whole region loses healthcare.”

First Amendment Rights And The Supreme Court

“The future of religious schools in America could hinge on the outcome of one case currently before the United States Supreme Court — Gloucester County School Board v. G.G.”

State Prayer Points and Praise Reports

Religious Liberty Legislation

Continue praying consistently and fervently for the successful passage of legislation that effectively protects our Judeo-Christian heritage and religious liberty.

AL: Housecleaning Without A Hearing Isn’t Right

“Judge Moore was suspended without pay after a hearing before the Court of Judiciary, which was set up by the Judicial Inquiry Commission to determine whether Moore told probate judges to defy the Supreme Court ruling legalizing unnatural marriage. He has appealed to the state Supreme Court.”

AR: Christian Radio Banned On School Bus

“The music of Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Toby Mac and other popular Christian artists is no longer welcome on public school buses in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The school district recently directed a bus driver to refrain from playing a Christian radio station while transporting children, television station KFSM first reported. The edict was handed down after a complaint was filed by the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based assortment of perpetually offended atheists, agnostics, free-thinkers and other radical rabble rousers.”

CA: Jewish Ceremony Ban Reversed

“A few days before the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah, observed this year on October 2, an extremist special interest group filed a federal lawsuit to stop a small Jewish synagogue in California from partaking in a traditional ceremony to be carried out shortly thereafter.”

MA: Pastors Taking A Stand

“Last week, ADF filed a lawsuit on behalf of four Massachusetts churches and their pastors to protect their right to use their houses of worship consistently with their beliefs. Here’s how the media has characterized the case.”

MO: Bibles Banned! VA Removes Good Book From Clinic

“Mikey Weinstein, the founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, fired off a letter to the medical center on behalf of the veteran – alleging that the presence of the Bible inside a government facility is a violation of the U.S. Constitution.”

TN: School Board Votes Against Proposed Religious Liberty Policies

“The Williamson County school board voted 7-4 against a set of proposed religious liberty policies Monday night. All board members said they supported religious liberties in schools, but they sharply differed on the necessity of the proposed policies. The policies — one on student religious liberties and another on employee religious liberties — aimed to clarify how students and employees can express their faith at school.”

TX: Students Post Scripture After Ten Commandments Covered

“Students in Texas pushed back when their school decided to cave in to an atheist group and covered a painting of the Ten Commandments.”

TX: High School Reverses Position, Allows Logo

“On September 6, 2016, Mr. Jones provided the 1st Choice Marine logo to the school. However, the next day, a school official said that they could not use the business’s logo because the company’s slogan, ‘It’s not about us, it’s all about Jesus,’ could put the school “’n real hot water’…shortly after First Liberty sent the demand letter, Lewisville ISD issued this statement:  “FMHS Bass Club is a student-founded and student-led group separate from Flower Mound High School.  The organization is not affiliated with or sponsored by Lewisville ISD.  As such, the students in the club are free to make decisions regarding who may pay to sponsor their club and which logos are placed on their jerseys, website, and/or other areas under their control.  Flower Mound HS administration therefore cannot require prior approval for such sponsorships or logos.  The District will not further interfere in which logos or sponsorships the FMHS Bass Club chooses to accept.”

Canada: Major Universities Push Hiring Policies On Small Faith-Based Schools

“The organization representing most Canadian institutions of higher education for a century is poised to enact regulations making it virtually impossible for Christian universities to belong, turning its collective back on the history of education in Canada, where most older universities were faith-based.UC’s board has recommended a draft bylaw and a matching policy to its membership that some are warning will force its Christian members to quit the organization or drop policies requiring staff and faculty to adhere to Christian moral teachings.”
