Prayer in Our Nation’s Capitol
February 17, 2019

We are incredibly fortunate to have national leaders who stand boldly for faith and freedom in America.

Leaders from around the world gathered in Washington DC last week with our President, Cabinet Members and Members of Congress for the National Prayer Breakfast co-hosted by Congressional Prayer Caucus Co-chair, Senator James Lankford.

Senator Lankford and Senator Coons modeled the importance of prayer from the platform as thousands of people joined them in prayer for our President and nation. Lankford reminded us, “The First Amendment right of free speech and right to practice any faith, or no faith, are foundational American values that must extend to everyone…” WATCH the full video.

Additionally, President Trump reaffirmed his commitment to protecting religious liberty for individuals and faith-based organizations. He highlighted the plight of a Michigan adoption agency that has been forced to defend itself in court for operating according to its Catholic values.

The President affirmed, “We will always protect our country’s long and proud tradition of faith-based adoption. My administration is working to ensure that faith-based adoption agencies are able to help vulnerable children find their forever families while following their deeply held beliefs.” Learn more about the attacks on faith-based adoption agencies.

As President Reagan said so poignantly, “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.” We must heed this warning, and do all we can to support our leaders who are fortifying the principles that maintain freedom and the ability for truth to win out.
